Have you noticed the design wall in the arenas at the Olympic events? They look like elegant quilts. The fabric design showcases paisley, checks, stripes, polka dots on an awesome background of blue. The completed pattern highlights triangles, squares and rectangles…with a pop of red. Colour variations can be spotted at the different venues. Cancellation
During the fall Pix talked to Salome owner of Quilt Essentials in St. Jacobs about co-ordinating the annual bus to experience Mennonite culture in the quilt world. Salome was excited! This was an adventure she always wanted to initiate! Plans were taking place…an interesting place to eat, a business to explore, a secret surprise and a few door prizes. Unfortunately Salome fell on the ice……during her recovery period she can only dream about the 2015 tour. The St. Jacobs Quilt Board wish Salome a speedy recovery.

Do you remember when the tea room at the St. Jacobs Schoolhouse was decorated with many interesting china teapots, a stained glass tea pot with a light and interesting tea cups ...and only Red Rose Tea was served? Dorothy Snider was the hostess in the tea room for many years. Guests raved about the wonderful tea and delightful squares. Dorothy was a member of The St. Jacob Quilt Shows Board and contributed many great ideas and stories. Sadly, this morning her obit appeared in the Record.
