Waterloo County Quilters Guild

Wednesday, March 19th I presented my trunk show entitled, 'Out of My Box' to the Waterloo County Quilter's Guild. What a delightful group of sewers! I was impressed with the ,'Show and Tell ' items
showcasing colour, skill and wows.This adventure has inspired me to find a new pattern! A recipe book published by this group offers some delicious choices.

Promo for St. Jacobs Quilt Shows

Stroll through' the room with the view' at the Village Silos and get inspired.Lynne Wolfe has created a beautiful display of quilts, course items, brochures and items promoting the amazing cigar ribbon quilt. Look in the display cases for information about Tracey Lawko's incredible threadwork. Take a peek at the river..perhaps there is a hint of spring!!!!

Village Silo Display

A display has been set up at The Village Silos featuring quilts, examples of courses that will be taught during the week of May 26 to 29, guest artist photos and a few items related to the cigar ribbon quilt as well as an amazing table decorations. Brochures outlying the 2014

St. Jacobs Quilt Shows will be available. The quilt featured in the photo is entitled,' Jewel,' by Jacqueline de Jonge.

Unfinished Projects

Time to work on unfinished projects. Members of The St. Jacobs Quilt  Shows are looking for a variety of quilts to hang at the schoolhouse. This tulip is made from a Vikki Pignatelli pattern…fun, easy and certainly cheers up a wintery day! Enjoy the longer days..even the sunshine!!!

Olympic Fabric

Have you noticed the design wall in the arenas at the Olympic events? They  look like  elegant quilts. The fabric design showcases paisley, checks, stripes, polka dots on an  awesome background of blue. The completed pattern highlights triangles, squares and rectangles…with a pop of red. Colour variations can be spotted at the different venues. Get your sketch pad out Brandon Mably…. quilters would love to purchase this fabric line.

Kits/Block Challenge

The kits for the annual Block Challenge are ready to be purchased. Check out Quilt Essential, The Quilters Nine Patch and Creative Sisters. This year's challenge honours Home Hardware's 50th anniversary and recognizes Walter Hatchborn, the original owner's passion for bow ties. Get creative! The blocks are due February 28th. The kits contain the 2014 brochure.

The annual St. Jacobs Quilt Festival brochure is like the back to school flyer. It provides an opportunity for the quilter/reader to read,dream, plan, visualize( green grass), make check marks and highlight the calendar. What fun to take a course, attend a trunk show, browse through the different venues, enjoy lunch, meet friends and have fun!
